rich and i were able to volunteer for the mission of mercy this year. mission of mercy is an organization that provides free healthcare to people who are uninsured or unable to afford healthcare. this year, we helped serve 1,925 patients! it was crazy incredible how many people came for treatment--even at 5 am there were huge lines, and some people even slept on the streets so they could be first in line. i was able to volunteer as a nurse and did vital signs, glycemic levels, medication reconciliations for for the medical triage section, and then rich helped in the fillings section. rich cannot recall how many fillings he did, but it was a lot. i wish we could've been there even longer. :) will definitely be participating again!
